| Goodbye Sweetheart, It's Time To Go 11.09.04 at 12:23 a.m. Obviously, by looking at the broken images, dusty text, and the cobwebs, I've abandoned this diary and it makes me sad to admit it. I'm growing up and the idea of growing up is no longer this magical, interesting, exciting thing. The 14 and 15 year old me didn't have enough perspective on things to write longer, more interesting entries. Not that a 17-year-old does. Not that I do, now. I love this diary like I love black, polyester pants worn with a homemade, tie-dye Tshirt. Juvenile, but loved, nevertheless. Diaryland really opened me to the internet. I really lucked out with it. I had googled "free internet diary journal" or something like that, looking for a free, codeless, alternative to LiveJournal. I found Diaryland. The username, Alivia Ridley, comes from the name Alivia Potter. Alivia Potter, I'm proud to say, was the heroine of the first Harry Potter Mary Sue fan fiction tale ever to be published on the internet. Written by moi, at the age of eleven, and posted at the Unofficial Harry Potter Fan Club message boards, where, at that tender age, I served as a forum Prefect (or, mod). Alivia Potter, in the great Sue tradition, is the older sister of Harry and falls in love with Voldemort's estranged grandson (hence, Ridley). It was original when I wrote it! Trust me, I got a few good reviews and no flames. A good review from JENNA. THE JENNA. The creator of Harry Potter On The Internet. Ahem. I actually have two Alivia journals, one for LJ and one for Diaryland. I don't keep up with them anymore and I don't write MS's anymore, either. I think the last time I daydreamed about being a Mary Sue was last winter. I'd really rather be wishing I was Alivia, than wishing I could get a full scholarship to Richmond International for four years. How depressing that I can't. No matter how angsty Alivia got, she was always smart and was always rich. Anyway, Diaryland is my mum and NeoPets is my dad and they created me: your nearly average, under-18, female, internet-geek. I'm considering a new diary here. Personal, of course. I already have a more public diary.
They're the REAL American Party... but enough about that. I need to finish this. So, this is the end of alviaridley.diaryland.com. As I sit here, listening to Loreena McKennitt and petting my orange tabby cat, I am already planning my new diary. If you ever come across the diary of a girl who supports the Libertarian Party, wants to be the next Dave Barry, complains about the Harry Potter movies, wishes she had more albums by The Surpremes, and loves The Clash and Joe Strummer almost as much as she loves her Star Wars, you've found Katie. You've found someone who rose from the ashes of Alivia Ridley, born anew. Just like Fawkes. /previous/next/ |
